Well hello there and happy Tuesday!

Getting up was a little rough because Bella decided she wanted to go outside and play go potty around 4:00 AM. That involved going downstairs and letting her out coming back upstairs, getting back to sleep only to be woken back up shortly there after to let her in so my neighbors don’t totally hate me.

5:45 was seriously early after that but it was cool getting to see a star when I woke up! I’m such a little kid because I still make a wish on the first star I see. Is that weird?

Since Bella had an eventful night, she wasn’t interested in running with me today. Like AT ALL. She was all, “Oh, there’s a bunny? Great!” Perfect opportunity to throw a 30 second fit. Cat? Squirrel? Same thing. My arm almost got pulled out of the socket a few times.

I need one of these.

Moral of the story, I booked on the last mile in. Like, my average lap pace was around 10:00 minutes until my last lap where it was 7:50!  I’m thinking Bella might have to start staying home while I run so I can work on my pace. :(

Breakfast

After being so hungry yesterday morning post-run, I decided to “bulk up” my breakfast and opted for a sliced banana with crunchy almond butter.

A little while later I snacked on strawberries and red grapes.

They didn’t have the normal red grapes I buy (I know, I’m now a grape snob) and these weren’t totally ripe and were pretty sour. Since I hate wasting food I’ll keep eating them but hope my grocery store gets the TNT red grapes back! (hint hint!)

Snack

Much like yesterday, I had some Thai Lime and Chili cashews as a snack. These things are seriously addicting!

Lunch

I forgot to set my coffee maker to brew last night so I was coffeeless this morning which was no bueno come lunchtime. Since reading The Beauty Detox Solution, I’ve been trying to drastically cut back on my soda intake but today I gave in and went and got a fountain soda at lunchtime.

Usually I look forward to my salad at lunch but today I just wanted anything but salad. Chicken tenders tossed in hot sauce with ranch on the side to be exact. Knowing that was not the best choice, I sucked it up and ate my salad.

When my craving didn’t subside after about an hour and a half, I decided I could come up with a healthy way to satisfy my craving. Since I work next to a bowling center, I knew they had everything I needed next door. Following along with the craving I got my hot sauce and ranch but had them give me a bunch of celery sticks instead of chicken tenders.

While this wasn’t nearly as good as real buffalo chicken tenders, this definitely satisfied me and was a much healthier option. (You never want to make yourself feel deprived of something but think of ways you can make it healthier! :) )

Dinner

Tyler was seriously craving Mexican tonight so we went to satisfy his craving. While I may have overindulged in the chips and salsa a bit, I opted for a vegetarian dish called Veggie Yucatan for something healthier. It came with guacamole, mexican rice and sour cream and was basically vegetarian fajitas without the tortillas and didn’t come on a skillet.

It was packed with mushrooms, zucchini, onions and tomatoes (which I doused in hot sauce) and left me feeling incredibly stuffed! I had a few bites of rice and used a tiny bit of sour cream but, for the most part, only ate the veggies.

Today really solidified to me that you really can indulge while still choosing to eat something clean and nutritious.
